To reach the Kampung Batik Kauman Solo area we follow Jl Uatara Square to the West, turn right at the third junction to enter Jl Wijaya Kusuma and stop at T-junction with Jl Cakra. At the junction corner of Jl Cakra we went into a batik shop called Batik Gunawan Setiawan.
The tip of the T-junction is rather wide, and so it's a place to hang. There is a large map containing the location of batik shops located in the area of Kampung Batik Kauman. A few steps to the North is Kaoeman Wholesale Batik. Two batik shops that we had time to visit. Arrangement Batik shop Gunawan Setiawan in Kampung Batik Kauman this looks quite tasteful. Precious premium batik is placed at the front of the store.
There is a small round table in the middle with a chair where the latter is where we drink cold kencur rice which tastes very good. Get addicted. Not allowed to take pictures inside the store. In addition to the intense competition among batik shops, a lot of batik patterns have been traced and made digital prints for mass production abroad. After some time down the hall in the store, I arrived at the back where there is a production workshop.
A total of 67 Batik and Craft Showroom, so the map was called, in the area of Kampung Batik Kauman. On the map was the name of the store, complete with the phone number. There are 14 Modiste & Fashion stores, 28 culinary venues, and 32 other shops. There are at least five money changers operating in the Kampung Batik Kauman area.
